Doe Run Peru Works in Disaster Areas
La Oroya, Peru (PRWEB) December 21, 2007 -- Doe Run Peru's commitment to natural disaster remediation continues, with the clearing of the Central Highway in Chicla, as part of the company's policy of social responsibility and dedication to the growth of Peru and its local communities.

On December 8th, a landslide shut down Central Highway in Chicla, paralyzing traffic and obstructing access to the Bellavista I and Bellavista II bridges. Doe Run Peru opened an alternate relief route to allow for vehicle circulation, and subsequently removed the debris that had accumulated on the main road with front-end loaders and dump trucks. A total of approximately 4,150 cubic meters worth of debris was removed.
Both directions of Central Highway reopened on December 12th.
